Our FSC is based on the T08SÅ12/14 index maintained by Statistics Sweden and the Swedish Association of Road Transport Companies and is adjusted weekly from March 2022 and onwards.

Why does EB Road Cargo have two different FSC (Long distance mainland and Long distance to/from Gotland)

We have that depending on the fact that the cost components are very different between a transport to/from Gotland compared to a transport on the mainland. This is because Gotland transports always includes a (high) ferry cost. On a transport to/from Gotland, the fuel accounts for around 11%, while for a transport on the mainland the corresponding figure is around 31%. Through diversified FSC, we ensure as correct and competitive total cost as possible.

Why is Long distance to/from Gotland higher than Long distance mainland?

EB Road Cargo’s FSC is based on w 44 in 2023 prices (which were high relative to today’s level). This means that Long distance to/from Gotland falls more slowly than Long distance mainland as the proportion of fuel is lower (11% compared to 31%) now that fuel prices are lower than the reference week (w44 in 2023).

In the case of an inverse relationship, rising fuel prices, Long distance to/from Gotland will rise more slowly than Long distance mainland for the same reason.

We urge the customer to compare the total cost, and not individual components, when assessing our competitiveness.
